Committee Spotlight

Chamber Young Professionals (CYP) is the premier young professionals group in the area and provides professional development and networking opportunities for emerging leaders.

The Committee works to plan monthly events for its members, ranging from seminars on topics of interest to young professionals to purely social networking opportunities.  These activities serve to nurture their leadership aspirations, cultivate relationships with experienced industry professionals, share common interests, and advance their burgeoning careers.

The CYP Committee has been working on several initiatives in the past year or so including the creation of a social networking space for CYP's and mentors to share, discuss and network (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn). They are also working on a mentorship program to pair accomplished business mentors with students/young professionals (YP's). The mentor will guide the mentee towards their career choice and act as a professional resource. Mentors are giving back to the community and at the same time mentees are growing professionally and becoming more empowered as they pursue their career.
 
Currently the CYP Committee is working diligently on the event line up for 2011/2012 which promises to offer what today's young professionals need and want. During this past year, the CYP Marketing Subcommittee rebranded the groups marketing to better reflect the young professionals group and attract new members. The Committee will continue to work on polishing the marketing campaign for 2011/2012 ahead.
