The Energy & Environment Forum began in 1987 and has been an annual
event ever since! The event promotes awareness of environmental issues within the business community and the community at large through an educational event with guest speakers and exhibitors.
Our upcoming Energy & Environment Forum will be a milestone for the Chamber as this will be the 25th anniversary of the E & E. If your business is looking to learn how the developing issues within the energy and environmental sector will influence your organization there is no better gathering. With guest speakers, community panels, and unique exhibitors from around the Region, the Energy & Environment Forum is the best place to learn, network, and discover cutting edge changes in two of the most influential sectors in the country.
After 25 years the Energy & Environment Forum continues to be one of the premier annual gatherings in the Chamber's calendar of events. It is one of those special events that brings together not only the business community, but also notable figures in several different industries.
Craig Hynd Memorial Award
This $500 award is offered in memory of Craig Hynd, an Environmental Officer at the Waterloo Region District School Board, and a dedicated and enthusiastic volunteer for the Greater Kitchener Waterloo Chamber of Commerce's Annual Energy & Environment Forum. Craig joined the event's planning committee for its very first meeting in the late 1980s when "green" industries and the environmental portfolio were not yet mainstream issues of importance to the corporate sector. Through the efforts of individuals like Craig though, attitudes and actions can change; leading environmental sustainability to where it is today - no longer a concern for only some businesses but now a core aspect of business strategy.
If you would like to apply for the Craig Hynd Memorial Award please fill out the application form and email the form to Teri Hetherington.
