Policy Committees

The Greater Kitchener Waterloo Chamber of Commerce's ability to effectively articulate the interests of our members is dependent on engaged and active volunteers.

The Chamber currently has three policy committees that meet on a regular basis to analyze issues of concern to local employers and recommend appropriate responses.

The Policy Committees include:

Federal & Provincial Affairs Committee

The Federal & Provincial Affairs Committee (FPAC) reviews federal and Ontario legislation in portfolios such as taxation, workforce development, post-secondary education, pension reform, and health care.

Regional and Municipal Affairs Committee

The Regional & Municipal Affairs Committee (RMAC) monitors initiatives and developments within local municipalities and advises the Chamber Board of Directors on appropriate positions/responses. Committee members have often appeared with Chamber staff at committee and council meetings.

Environment Committee

Environment Committee promotes environmentally responsible and sustainable decision-making in the local business sector. Reviews developments the local, provincial, and federal levels of government to determine their impacts on Waterloo Region.
